A cold-formed shoulder bolt with a ground shoulder for use as a pivot or a locating pin, and a rolled thread for fatigue resistance. Made to drawing, including non-standard shoulder lengths and head forms.
The head and shoulder are cold formed in one blow, which work-hardens the material and produces a stronger grain flow than a machined equivalent. Threads are rolled, not cut, so the root radius is preserved.
Zinc-nickel, trivalent passivated, 8–10 µm, giving 720 hours to white rust in neutral salt spray — roughly four times a standard zinc finish.
Typically USD 1,200–2,500 depending on head complexity, one-off and quoted explicitly. It is quoted separately so you can compare it against the part price rather than having it buried.
That is the economical run length for cold forming. Below it, machining is cheaper overall — which is why we also quote a machined variant from 500 pieces.
